Fried, raw, steamed—sample an array of freshly shucked goodness this weekend at the Second Annual Halifax Oyster Festival on Manatee Island along downtown Daytona Beach. Slurp down oysters by the dozen while enjoying beer, food and live music. Event proceeds fund the restoration of healthy oyster beds in Volusia County. All of those empty shells won’t go to waste. They will be used to create oyster mats to help replenish the beds in the Halifax River.
