The third Friday of every month, Baldwin Park puts up a giant screen for Movies in the Park. The movie on June 21 is ‘Bee Movie.’ Barry B. Benson, a bee who has just graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry’s life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey, and subsequently decides to sue us.
Kids Fringe, a special part of the Orlando Fringe Festival, is a free event to entertain the little ones with live performances, art activities, classes and more. The activities are free and take place in the sculpture gardens of the Mennello Museum of American Art two weekends in a row, May 18 & 19 and May 25 & 26. Kids and families can watch theatrical and musical performances under the big tent, take dance and drum classes under the Mayor Tree, meet robots and storybook friends at the character meet-and- greet, and play in a bounce house.
