Jazz saxophonist Mindi AbairĀ is visitingĀ Nickelodeon Suites Resort for a free jazz clinic on Saturday, February 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Abair has been featured onĀ American Idol; performed with artists such as Duran Duran, Lalah Hathaway, Josh Groban and The Backstreet Boys; and has produced albums that have topped the Billboard Contemporary Jazz sales charts.Ā
Abair will open the event with a special performance featuring the West Orange High School Jazz Band, followed by an hour-long workshop that will highlight Abairās personal music journey from high school drum major to award-winning musician. The distinguished artist will also share her best tips and techniques for better sax playing. After the event, Abair will be available for an autograph session and Music & Arts will announce their special giveaway prize.
Those interested in participating in the clinic are encouraged to bring their own instruments.Ā Tickets are freeĀ but are limited and required to attend the event.
