Florida is bringing back its sales tax holiday for hurricane supplies. That means that, if you buy certain items between May 31 and June 8, 2014, there will be on Florida sales tax on those items.
The list of eligible supplies ranges from flashlights to generators that cost less than $750. Except for the generator, all eligible supplies cost $50 or less. Hurricane shutters are not included in the sales tax holiday.
Other eligible items include first aid kits, tarps, radios, batteries and coolers. You see see the list of eligible hurricane supplies here.
The next sales tax holiday, for school supplies, will be Aug. 1-3, 2014. A sales tax holiday on the purchase of energy-efficient appliances costing $1,500 or less will be Sept. 19-21, 2014.
