Small Business Saturday is an initiative from American Express encouraging customers to shop in local brick and mortar stores — rather than the big-box retailers. As an incentive, American Express customers can get up to $30 in credit when they shop at a local store with an American Express card on Saturday, Nov. 29.
Here’s how it works: Register your American Express card. Only a limited number of cards will be accepted, so don’t wait too long. Then, on Nov. 29, shop at a local small business that is registered for the program, spend at least $10 in one transaction and pay with your American Express card. For each eligible $10 transaction, you’ll get a $10 credit on your American Express billing statement (up to $30 total).
To find participating local businesses, enter your city name or ZIP code on the Small Business Saturday map.
