February is Black History Month, and Orlando is hosting a variety of celebrations in observance of its vibrant black community.
Here are some of the events being held to celebrate black culture, art, and contribution in Orlando this year.

Kissimmee Black History Celebration at Chambers Park
Saturday, Feb. 22 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The City of Kissimmee Government is hosting this exciting celebration full of culture, history, and togetherness. Attend to enjoy live music, delicious food, and “engaging activities that showcase the rich cultural heritage and achievements of African Americans.” Reserve your FREE tickets here.
City of Orlando’s Black History Month Community Celebration Event
Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Celebrate Black History Month with this FREE event that “honors the lasting contributions and positive influence of African Americans in our Central Florida community. Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioners will be present for a screening of the GOSPEL docuseries, as well as delicious food and live entertainment from City Beautiful Voices.
Black History Month Celebration at Serenity’s Grace
Sunday, Feb. 9 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
This vibrant, FREE event is a celebration of culture, creativity, and community. Enjoy music, delicious food, and local vendors while uplifting the community.
3rd Annual Black History Speaks Series
Saturday, Feb. 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Join spoken word artists, historians, and rhythm artists for a celebration of artistic culture hosted by the Eatonville Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are FREE via Eventbrite.
Black History Month Art Exhibit Opening Reception 2025
Wednesday, Feb 5. from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hosted at Orlando City Hall, come celebrate the opening of the 2025 Black History Month Art Exhibit. This collection of pieces made by 33 local black artists showcases “the diverse richness of African American history and heritage through the visual arts.” The exhibit will be on display through Sunday, Mar. 30, 2025.

The Harlem Renaissance Experience: A Celebration of Black Culture
Saturday, Feb. 22 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The Winter Park Library is hosting this FREE event that blends art, music, literature, and fashion for an immersive and interactive journey celebrating a movement that gave rise to some of the most influential artists, musicians, writers, and thinkers of the 20th century.
Timucua Amplifies Black Voices Concert Series
The Timucua Arts Foundation is hosting three incredible musical groups featuring talented black artists. Join them for the following concerts that span an array of musical genres:
* Feb. 7 – John Lumpkin and The Covenant
* Feb. 8 – Ulysses Owens Jr Presents the 904 Jazz Organ Trio
* Feb 15 – EarthTonez: Funky, Soulful Jazz
Black Heritage Night at Orlando Magic vs. Atlanta Falcons
Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
Celebrate Black History Month with a special Orlando Magic game against the Atlanta Falcons. Past Black Heritage Night celebrations at the Kia Center have included celebrity appearances, live performances, contests, and more. Tickets start at $20.
