$5 movie in Sanford: Titanic

The Ritz Theater in downtown Sanford presents shows, concerts, special events, classic movies at more at its historic building in downtown Sanford. The Ritz Theater celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023, making it one of the oldest movie houses in Florida. It was called the Milane when it opened August 2, 1923.

The Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center is home to all kinds of performances, from rock concerts to fund-raisers to classic movies.

That includes a Ritz Flix movie series where tickets cost just $5 (or are free with donations to charity). Most of the film are kid-friendly, though a few may not appropriate for younger kids. Ritz Theater members can see the movies free.

Wednesday, December 18: Christmas Vacation, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, January 12: Austin Powers I and II double feature, 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 6: Titanic, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, March 28: Jurassic Park, 7:30 p.m..
Thursday, April 3: Superman with Christopher Reeve, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, April 11: Minions (2015), 8 p.m. Free admission with non-perishable food item. RSVP here to hold your seats.
Thursday, May 15: Spaceballs, 7:30 p.m.

The usual start time for the films is 7:30 p.m., but it’s always wise to double-check before you go. Some of the special-event showings start t other times. Tickets are available only at the door, but you are advised to book the free showings in advance.
