Solar eclipse viewing glasses are already sold out at most locations, but you may have a chance to snag a free pair. On Monday, August 21, libraries across Orlando will host free Solar Eclipse Viewing Parties. FREE safe-viewing glasses will be available to attendees (while supplies last) on the day of the eclipse. The libraries that are participating are listed below. Keep in mind, each location has a limited amount of glasses to distribute.
Due to the position of the Orlando area in the path of the solar eclipse, only a partial eclipse will be seen, beginning at 1:27 p.m. and continuing until 4:21 p.m., and conditions will vary depending on the weather. Due to the limited number of safe viewing glasses received, the libraries do not have any glasses left for general public distribution in advance of the event.
