Orlando On The Cheap, a premier online resource for enjoying life in Central Florida for less, is seeking a few freelance writers to join our team. We are dedicated to spotlighting our vibrant Central Florida lifestyle and helping our community, with a focus on free and discounted events and entertainment, deals and more.
These positions require skill at writing and research. Knowledge of SEO and WordPress are helpful. Also ideal: Expertise on all things Central Florida, as this job necessitates getting out and about and networking, and the ability to have some fun with this type of writing!
These are skills that would be useful:
- Finding, writing and posting stories from Orlando and surrounding communities.
- Using SEO best practices.
- Updating content.
- Staying up to date on the latest happenings and holiday guides.
- Sharing on Instagram and Facebook.
- Shooting, acquiring and posting video.
You may have one great story you want to write, or you may want to regularly cover a part of the South Florida scene. We are looking for writers for single assignments and as regular contributors. All writers are part-time, work-at-home contractors with flexible hours. Writers must live in Central Florida, unless they are proposing stories on travel to Orlando and the surrounding area.
