The Orlando Fringe will celebrate Orlando OutFest from Friday, September 20, through Sunday, September 22, with a weekend of LGBTQIA stories, artists, performances and history. There will be a kick-off event Thursday, September 19.
These are among the festival events:
- Truth-or-Dare with P. Sparkle. 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 19. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. Contestants from each Orlando OutFest show will compete.
- Just B. 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 20, and 9 p.m. Saturday, September 21. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. Orlando queer icon Billy Mick will share songs, stories and his life journey in a one-man show (which will require him to don many jackets).
- Revelations: Who Speaks for God? 9 p.m. Friday, September 20, and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 22. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. This drama follows teachers and students at a Catholic school as they confront their biases and the harms done to marginalized people.
- The Center Orlando Presents: A Big Gay Variety Show. 10:30 p.m. Friday, September 20. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. From stand-up comedy to singing and dancing, Orlando’s best queer entertainers will perform. The show is hosted by George Wallace.
- Alphabet Soup! An A-Z GUIDE to the LGBTQIA+. 1 p.m. Saturday, September 21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, September 22. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. This family-friendly puppet show tells the story about what happens when Xan is called queer. He visits the owners of Marsha’s Diner to learn how the LGBTQIA+ community members express themselves. This show is recommended for age 7 and older.
- The Odd Ball. 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 21, and 6 p.m. Sunday, September 22. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. Venture into the queer crypt of Davi Oddity, conjuring up the spirits of classic horror hosts such as Elvira and Dr. Paul Bearer. This will be a haunted evening of drag, cabaret, burlesque, camp humor and bad puns.
- BI BI BI. 4 p.m. Saturday, September 21, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, September 22. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. Five short pieces come together to tell stories of the most often left out letter in the alphabet soup.
- Drag Queen Story Hour: After Dark (featuring comedian Addison Taylor). 10:30 p.m. Saturday, September 21. ArtSpace MainStage. Tickets are $15. This story hour is for the 18-plus crowd.
