Hurricane closures and cancellations

We have received notice of these closures and cancellations this week because of Hurricane Milton:

The Orange County Library System will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8. All library branches and book drops will be closed Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10. OCLS plans to reopen on Friday, October 11, for normal business hours, conditions permitting. Check the Orange County Library website for further updates.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has cancelled or postponed all performances scheduled for Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10, 2024. Kristen Warren & Creek, The String Queens have been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. Thursday’s performance of Phantasmagoria XV: Grim and Grimmer Tales has been canceled. Guests are encouraged to transfer tickets to the Friday or Saturday performance. All ticketing questions or concerns can be directed to the Bill & Mary Darden Box Office at 407-358-6603.

AdventHealth School of the Arts has suspended classes at the Dr. Phillips Center Tuesday, October 8 through Thursday, October 10:

All City of Orlando neighborhood and recreation centers and pools will be closed Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10. Additionally, all sports and event activities at city centers, parks and recreation facilities have been cancelled on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10.

Gatorland has decided to close the park on Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10, for the safety of its animals, guests and employees. The first weekend of the Gators, Ghosts and Goblins Halloween Event is still scheduled to take place Oct. 12 and 13, at this time. The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will be closed from Tuesday, October 8, through Thursday, October 10. The Sunset at the Zoo event, scheduled for Thursday, October 10, has been canceled. A new date will be announced soon.

The galleries and offices of The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will be closed Wednesday, October 9 through Thursday, October 10. Regular Museum hours will resume as soon as public safety can be assured. For updates, visit the website at www.morsemuseum.org.

The Hemmings Musclepalooza event scheduled for Saturday, October 12, at Orlando Speed World has been postponed. Anyone that purchased tickets through The Foat will automatically receive a full refund directly though the platform. Information will be available soon regarding a rescheduled event date.

Crayola Experience Orlando and The Crayola Store will be CLOSED Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10.

Orlando Science Center will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. The center will reopen on Friday if it is safe to do so.
