An annual tradition at Kelly Park is back this month. Saturday, January 18, 2025 they will hold the Cardboard Canoe Regatta.
Teams of five (limited to 16 teams total) will build and race a cardboard and duct tape canoe. Then, teams will race their canoes in the chilly waters of Rock Springs beginning at 1:00 p.m., with prizes awarded to Race Winner, Crowd Favorite and Most Spectacular Sinking.

Join the Regatta
Starting at 8:00 a.m., teams of five will construct their canoes at Kelly Park using cardboard and duct tape provided by park staff. Then, at 1:00 p.m., the teams will race their canoes to victory (and possibly a cold plunge into the 68-degree spring water).
Team registration closes Friday, January 10 and costs $50 per 5-person team. See the Orange County Parks site or the Facebook event page for more information.
Admission
Park admission fees are $3 per vehicle for 1-2 people; $5 per vehicle for 3-8 people; and $1 for additional person/walk-ins/motorcycles/bikes.
Watching the Cardboard Canoe Regatta is included in your admission price.
