The Orange County Library’s calendar is always packed with FREE events. The library really is a cool place to be!
The library branches have free classes for all ages, free story times for children, free concerts, free readings by authors and much, much more.
Some of the events listed below require registration in advance with an OCLS card and space may be limited. Events may require a small fee if you do not have an OCLS card. If you have any questions, contact the library at 407-835-7323 or visit the Orange County Library site.

Events for Kids and Families
Build LEGO Robots: Acrobat
Tuesday, November 5
4:00-5:00 p.m. Alafaya Branch
Explore the world of LEGO WeDo as we build and program LEGO robotics. Build a flipping acrobat and discover how code can bring machines to life! Age Requirements: 5-6
Fry Bread: A Native American Family Tradition
Saturday, November 9
1:00-2:30 p.m. Hiawassee Branch
Learn about the history and tradition of fry bread as well as other indigenous foods.
November is Native American Heritage Month. Recipes and information about indigenous foods are sourced from the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
Food will be served at this event; please see staff about specific needs concerning food allergies.
Coco Movie and Craft
Tuesday, November 12
3:00-5:00 p.m. Eatonville Branch
A showing of Disney Pixar’s, Coco! Sing and dance along to the beat and make a themed craft to take home. Recommended for preschool through upper elementary.
Cuisine Corner Junior: Zelda Snacks
Wednesday, November 13
4:00-5:00 p.m. Alafaya Branch
Part of Cozy Gaming Week. Make some of Link’s classic cuisine from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom! Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration for each child required.

Beautify your home and garden with exquisitely crafted jar Macrame. Recommended for teens and adults.
Native American Dance Performance
Sunday, November 10
2:00-3:00 p.m. Orlando Public Library
Join the library in celebration of Native American Heritage Month for an unforgettable performance by internationally recognized performer, educator, and Founder of Native Pride Productions, Larry Yazzie.
This high-energy performance will feature an innovative blend of modern and traditional Native American dance styles, as well as educational storytelling for all ages and audience interaction. Feel the beat of the drum, experience the power of dance, and learn about Native American culture, history, and traditions with the whole family.
Sprouting Seeds in a Jar

12:30-1:30 p.m. Winter Garden Branch
Sprouting seeds in a jar is a fun way to provide healthy food at low cost. Learn about this easy way to grow food without soil with the use of a clear glass jar, water, and seeds. Space limited.
Thanksgiving Recipe Swap

Try something new this year. Share your favorite Thanksgiving recipe. Recommended for adults.
