The Orange County Library’s calendar is always packed with FREE events. The library really is a cool place to be!
The library branches have free classes for all ages, free story times for children, free concerts, free readings by authors and much, much more.
Some of the events listed below require registration in advance with an OCLS card and space may be limited. Events may require a small fee if you do not have an OCLS card. If you have any questions, contact the library at 407-835-7323 or visit the Orange County Library site.

Events for Kids and Families
Halloween Perler Bead Earrings
Saturday, October 5
4:00-5:00 p.m. Hiawassee Branch
Create your own pair of earrings with bats, pumpkins, and ghosts. Recommended for ages 10-18.
Mindful Start Family Yoga
Monday, October 7
10:15-10:45 a.m. Winter Garden Branch
Silly and fun yoga poses designed for kids. Flow through an imaginative journey filled with puppets, parachute games, and relaxing rest time. Recommended for families with children ages 0-7.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in comfortable clothing and bring your own mat.
Spooky Bingo
Tuesday, October 8
4:30-5:15 p.m. Fairview Shores Branch
You could win cool Halloween-themed prizes to take home. Recommended for families.
Drive-In Movie Night
Wednesday, October 9
4:00-5:30 p.m. Hiawassee Branch
Design your vehicle and then enjoy a movie snack as you watch Scooby Doo! Camp Scare (2010). Recommended for ages 6-12.
Children will color boxes using crayons and markers to make the boxes look like cars. There will be a screening of the film Scooby Doo! Camp Scare which is 72 minutes long. Popcorn and water will be given out as movie snacks.
Monster Smash, Halloween Bash!
Wednesday, October 9
4:00-5:00 p.m. West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center
Wear your costume for ghoulish games, creepy crafts, and spooky stories. Recommended for families.

Cuisine Corner Junior: Spooky Cake Pops
Thursday, October 17
3:30-4:30 p.m. Orlando Public Library
Satisfy your sweet tooth with a spooky treat. Just in time for Halloween! Recommended for upper elementary and tweens.
Registration required.
Food will be served at this event; Please see staff about specific needs concerning food allergies.
Music with Mr. Richard
Saturday, October 26
1:00-1:45 p.m. Orlando Public Library
Sing and dance along to the wacky and weirdly wonderful music of Mr. Richard. This is part of the OCLS Trick or Treat Safe Zone event.

Crochet Dragon Scale Dice Bags
Tuesdays, October 1 and 8
10:00-12:00 p.m. Washington Park Branch
Carry your dice or small treasures in dragon-scale style. Learn how to crochet a drawstring bag with a scale texture using crochet in the round techniques and a modified crocodile stitch.
This class is a series. Students are expected to work on project between class.
Plant Swap
Saturday, October 12
10:00-11:30 a.m. West Oaks Branch
Meet other nature enthusiasts and celebrate autumn at this plant exchange. Bring your own plants and cuttings to share with others and you might walk away with a new favorite for your own garden.
Therapeutic Pottery Program
Monday, October 14

Learn about the history and the benefits of working with clay. Registration required. Ages 18 and up.
Cuisine Corner: Tequeños

Personal Chef Jose Nenko prepares tequeños, Venezuelan cheese sticks wrapped in a soft dough. Registration required.
Make Your Own Resin Pet Ghost
Thursday, October 24
4:30-5:00 p.m. Orlando Public Library
Celebrate the spooky season and learn how to make a pet ghost using UV resin. Registration required. Ages 18 and up.
